Barangay Langin is so named after the Cebuano term "langit", which literally means heaven. The name is given to the place because of all the barrios in the town, it is considered the farthest. Besides, the town's highest mountain is found in this place. 

Its sitios include Pusod-sawa, so named because it is the center of the mountain ranges and forms like a navel of a snake.
